Aventine Miniatures, historical 28mm wargame figures. All our figures have been sculpted by Adam who designed A&A’s 3rd Century Romans and Palmyrans. Stationary PrincipesWhile waiting for the advancing principes to be completed Adam painted some of the Triarii in chainmail up and gave them pilum.
Latest releases
We have now finished the stationary Triarii, the light infantry with javelins, the advancing Hastati with pilum and with swords and have Finished the mail advancing principes. The first packs of which are now in the shop.

Hastati Unit
What is next?We have decided to add this to the front page and to try and keep it up to date...lol. It is of course subject to change as we go.1. Advancing armoured Republican Roman infantry, these will come as Triarii with spear and Principes with pilum. There will be 10 packs with mail and some with bronze armours. Some of the packs will be swordsmen, some with a spear/pilum upright and the some in active/throwing poses more suitable for pilum than hasta.1a. Stationary infantry in pectorals and unarmoured.2. Cavalry, Roman cavalry in mail, a total of 4 packs one with swords two with spears and a command pack.3. Tarentine cavalry packs will have either no armour or light armour.4. Skirmishers for the two ranges so far to include archers and slingers, designed to be generic Italian types.5. African Elephants with hellenistic type crews.6. Indian Elephants with astride crews.7. Cohort command set of four/six figures or so8. Higher command with mounted and standing Consuls and tribunes.
Finished
We have now finished the small section of advancing infantry in Subarmalis and Pectorals.Next will be some unarmoured stationary infantry and some stationary Hastati in pectorals. The cavalry is getting real close now, the officer is done as is his horse.
